Good times...

good times, I tell ya!! I actually pulled it off -- the surprise party that is! That was incredibly too stressful trying to think before I spoke for over a month and get everything ready without being noticeable...yikes! Would I do it again? Sure would! The smile that was on my hubby's face was worth every new gray hair on my head

We literally had 3 1/2 hours to throw the entire thing together including the tent. We or maybe I went like mad and it couldn't have worked out more perfectly. Just after 4 pm he came home. I was hiding down by the front of my truck and I could here him telling his friend who had taken him to the casino, "What's my tent up for? Why is there balloons in the backyard?" His friend Brian just kept on responding with, "I don't know. Just keep going." Just about that time, I sprang up from behind the front of my truck with a "SURPRISE!" and this is the face I caught.

Then I said I'm throwing you a party, but no one is here yet. Meanwhile the gang was hiding behind the back of the house. You couldn't hear a peep which I'm surprised by...lol

Oh, and someone should point out to my dear brother that he shouldn't emphasize those spaces in his teeth by placing a cigarette between them Wide open spaces!!! He's crazy!

Then my sister, who is always running from the camera as you can see, decided to bring chocolate cupcakes with BLACK (yes, BLACK) frosting. Here was the outcome.
Hey, is this Grandpa Munster or is it Uncle Fester???

And here are the rest of the brave party goers who opted to try those black cupcakes!

We danced and ate and partied the night away! Look at this awesome cake that Travis' mom made for Dave!

Happy Birthday, old man! I hope you had as great of time as the rest of us!! XOXO

First day back!!

Well, I just got home from sending the kids off to school...yay!! Even though it's a half day today, I am enjoying the peace and quiet. Don't get me wrong I will miss them a bit, but seriously I've had enough of the "I'm bored!" "He hit me!" "She hit me!" and all the other fussing. I'm just hoping and praying that this will be a start to an awesome year for the two of them.

Travis started high school today bright and early. Now he's not included in the above topic because he's a terrific kid(my other two are pretty terrific, too, but that fighting kicks them down a notch...lol)!! Even as a teenager, he's a great kid who doesn't argue with his parents or brothers and sister. He was sooooo nervous and I just kept trying to reassure him that he would be an old pro finding his way around in no time. Plus, I reminded him that EVERYONE is nervous the first day and just go about the day with confidence. I know he'll do great!

September's BPM Early Layout

Through all the craziness of last week, I did manage to get a layout done...yay!

Here's one from Back Porch Memories' Medley kit featuring Bo Bunny Splendor -- BEEE-UUU-tiful stuff!

It's a picture of my mom (second to the left) and her three sisters from waaaaaay back in 1977. Funny how I can still remember that picture being taken on my great Aunt Phyllis' front porch in Detroit. Can you believe my mom is 22 in that picture! Dang, she was quite a hottie...lol

Oh, I had forgotten to post this little gem of mine. I liked it no matter what my husband says. I combined painting with a bit of scrapping. It was a fun technique using rubber cement and die cuts to create this look.

Back from Vacation!!

Okay, that was the BEST BEST BEST vacation and I so needed it!! You know it's a good time when you don't even care if your luggage arrives or not. Yes, my luggage got lost in route to Tulsa on Thursday and they didn't deliver it to the Scrap Pad until 1:31 am Sunday. Funny thing though -- we had a bet going on what time my luggage would arrive. Eight of us entered a time and my time was.....1:32 am!! Can you believe I was off by one minute!! Why can't I pick winning lottery numbers?

I'm just thankful that I got the suitcase back in time to take it home. I arrived in Detroit only to be told I couldn't be reimbursed for my purchases like I should be because no one entered a claim for me in Tulsa...ugh!! So by showing a little irritation I was offered a $100 voucher for future flights. I might be heading back to see my gal pals sooner than I thought...lol

There are a lot of pictures that have to be kept hidden because we decided that what happened in Tahlequah stays in Tahlequah...lol Good times...good times is all I can say

Cheri don't hate me for the picture, but it's the only one I had that was appropriate...lol
Miss you all!!

Happy Anniversary...

to us yesterday! Ten years!! Wow! While I won't say it feels like yesterday it certainly flew by quickly. When I got home from work, the kids had made us this beauty of a card with their scrap supplies...how sweet!!! Love those kiddos!

Love my hubby, too! here's to another 20 yrs. because as Dave always puts it "30 and out"He's sooooo funny...not Love him anyway!

Today brought to you by the letter L

That title totally reminds me of Sesame Street which I've watched for many, many years You've gotta love Elmo!
Anywho, just wanted to post my letter L page for my ABC book. I'm all caught up now which is miraculous. I think it has to do with the size of the layout (8x8) that's making the pages come together quickly. What I love, too, is that I'm using up lots of leftovers from previous BPM kits...feels good to use stash!

Hope you all are having a scrappy happy day!

ABC's of Me

Believe it or not, I started this 8x8 album back in June of 2006. Of course I never finished it because that's just how I am...lol Well, Audrey over at Back Porch Memories has been hosting this challenge and I finally jumped in at the letter "I". I am DETERMINED to finish it this time. So here are my pages for the letters I, J, and K

Off to do the dishes...yippee!

Shhhhh...

It's a surprise party in the making! I'm trying my hardest to pull this off, but it's going to take a lot of cooperation on some other people to help me. Especially the "getting him out of the house" part...lol

Let's hope I can pull this off

HOLY COW!!!

After four Kenny Chesney concerts we finally did it!!!! My SIL Rose got us "meet & greet" passes by talking to a local radio station fellow she has met a few times now at the Diamond Back Saloon when my brother and her kick up their boots for a night. I couldn't believe it!!! Next thing I heard her calling me, the DJ yelled for me, and then I ran over. I waved the banner from his radio station and next thing I know we were handed passes and on an elevator down to stand in line to meet KENNY!!

Now mind you it's not like you're sitting down for a lunch date, but HEY we'll take what we can get :D We stood in line to get our picture taken and have him sign something for us. I only had my 106.7 Party Pass, so I had him sign that. Thank goodness I had my camera around my neck and that the battery lasted to get two more pictures. Of course my battery light had to come on and indicate it was low at a time like this. We were like giddy teenagers!! Here's a bunch of pictures from our day of fun!

I must interject here and point out an observation I made...Kenny looks like he is a cardboard poster, but seriously it was the REAL him! He looked darn tired like they woke him up for this, but he was super nice and even gave me an extra pat on my back...lol Rosie gave him a big ole' hug and he said "thank you" which she then responded with "no, thank you!"

Rose is Kenny's BIGGEST FAN! Can you see the excitement in her face as she's calling everyone to tell them what just happened to us!

A picture of the group right before we boarded the Detroit Princess.

CUTE HUH??!!??

A view of the city from the Detroit Princess

Rose, Traci, and Pam talking to Chuck Edwards from 99.5 WYCD (one of the local country radio stations). He promised that if I emailed him, he would send us out some t-shirts as they were all out. Let's see if he holds to his promise...lol

Ford Field on the outside

and jam packed with fans on the inside!

And this is always my favorite part of the show...when Uncle Kracker (a talent from our area who lives just blocks away from my brother...you possibly know him from being Kid Rock's musical buddy) comes out and sings "When the Sun Goes Down" with Kenny! I just love it!

AHHH! What a night..what a night!
