Build-A-Bear

I love that place and could go crazy shopping for all the cute clothes and accessories for these stuff animals. Marisa's Brownie troop had a field trip there. It was so much fun and excitement for these girls. BAB did a great job playing games and entertaining the troop. They each got bear, a brownie outfit for their bear, and a badge for their sash. I picked out a monkey for Collin. Marisa assembled it for him and I gave it the name "George". Really original, huh? Marisa named her bear Olivia and we bought a wig for her and a baby carrier. Cute stuff!

Yesterday

Marisa's class had a little Mother's Day program. It was so sweet. We made a bookmark and Miss Hasse read a book about what mother's can't do. It's a cute book that we already have read a dozen times. We were then presented with a coursage made of paper with our picture drawn in the center of the flower. Each child the got up and read their journal aloud about why their mother was special. Brought a tear to my eye I tell ya! Each child was sooo sincere, but it broke my heart that two of the children's mothers couldn't be there. The one little girl started to cry...just wanted to give her a hug! She recovered quickly though. Here's Marisa's journal and her picture of me:

I asked her what that thing is in the middle of my head and she told me my clip...funny kid! After your child read this out loud to the class he or she then brought you a flower with a card attached made my them.

It was such a special time and I'm so glad I was able to go. Marisa was just glowing at the fact that she had made all these special things for me and kept asking me if I was going to cry from happiness. She wanted me to! I did shed a tear or two. These are the days that make you just gleam with pride that you're a mom!

May is

half over already and I just noticed on Marisa's school newsletter that there is only 15 days left of school **SHOCK**!! Does anyone know how to slow down time because it's going by too quickly. I'm trying to enjoy every moment, but it still seems way too fast.

Mother's Day was wonderful this year!! Best I've had since my very first. My DH was so sweet and gave me lots of cash which I used to buy a new coffee pot, a Carl's rotary cutter, and pay for my J4K class retreat in August. I just can't wait to go and meet everyone I chat with in the forum in person.

My kids made me lots of pretty cards and Marisa drew a picture on her new dry erase board she had to buy for herself...LOL

This is me walking my favorite kind of dog, a Pug. Marisa knows how badly I want one of these, but Dave hasn't given in yet! I like how thin I am in with my orange glowing tan...hee hee. Love this picture!

I got a picture with me and the kids, but boy oh boy do I NOT like it. Cameras surely tell the truth and it's telling me to start an exercise program IMMEDIATELY!!!

My sweet husband took all of us to Home Depot which never happens because he doesn't like shopping with all the craziness the kids throw into the mix. We picked out my countertop for my scrap area and a bunch of shelves. He came home and put it all in for me!! I am so geeked!! When he was done, Travis and Marisa helped me put everything into place and boy does it look so nice and organized. I don't even want to scrap and make a mess. I still need a few more organizational things to help store my stuff neatly. I also need to finish painting the other side of the basement so the couch can be moved out of my area, but other than that I LOVE IT!!!!

Thursday Blogger

On your blog, if you can, share about some of your most sad, challenging, difficult moments in your life.
Share if you can.
Share how you overcame....
Share how you have grown, gotten stronger.

Okay, here we go! Over the course of my 36 years on this earth there have been many sad and challenging moments. Life started out rough with 16 year old parents and an abusive alcoholic father. It was always one big roller coaster and I truly believe that's why I always have that "the rug will be pulled out from underneath me any moment" feeling. It sits in the back of my mind in a little room with the door half opened just waiting to come out.

In the past 9 years three moments have arisen that have totally caught me off guard and devastated me. By the grace and mercy of God I have made it through a stronger person. On July 3, 1997 my first niece was born to my brother and SIL. She was the most beautiful tiny blonde hair blue eyed baby. Who would've known that by December 14, 1997 her little soul would've drifted off to heaven leaving us all in disbelief. The doctors could never reveal what was the cause of her slow demise. She fell ill instantly after birth and it was such a struggle for her and her parents over the next 5 months. They decided to take her off her ventilator. I think back on that time being allowed to enter the room after she passed. She layed there on that bed like a little angel and I held and rocked her so longing for some sort of miracle -- for her to start breathing again. Her death jolted my father back in to drinking. I've never seen my father, a grown man - my rock, be crippled to his knees as I did then.

The next occurrence would be the shocking death of my father on October 30, 2001. The man I loved and admired sooo much despite his faults. I could always overlook them, how I don't know. Everyone would always say that I was such a daddy's girl and that they knew I was his favorite. I still get teased by my mother and siblings to this day. My father had fallen ill on September 30th. He was in bad times physically, emotionally and financially. It landed him in the hospital with kidney failure. I thought that was the end then. He recovered and was released from the hospital within a week. I was there every day for him taking him to doctor's appointments, grocery shopping for him, and staying by his side because he wanted company. It was hard for me. He would call me 15-20 times a day, but never once did I not pick up the phone. He kept telling me he thought he was dying. I kept telling him he was crazy. He was different. More kind. More gray hair. More loving. He wanted the grandkids to be there all the time.

This one day he asked me to come over for lunch and I told him I couldn't. I told him I'd come on Tuesday after Marisa's first ballet class. He was so excited she was going to dance. I talked to him Monday night and he sounded very tired. I asked him if he was okay and he just replied with this, "I'm just tired, Tami." Well, little did I know it was going to be the last time I'd ever talk to him. Tuesday came and I never got a call in the morning like I had been getting all the other mornings. I just dismissed it. I came home from dance and noticed on the caller ID he hadn't called. I was so tired that I layed Marisa and I down for a nap and missed our lunch date. I still hadn't heard from him by 6 pm so I called his house. He lived with his ex-wife -- weird I know. A strange man answered the phone when I called. I asked if my dad was there in a confused cocky voice. He said to hold on. Maureen got on the phone and I asked her if my dad was there. These words ring LOUD in my head still to this day. "Tami, he's dead." It was like a joke or something. I fell to my knees and screamed until Dave came running and took the phone. I don't remember much after that except my MIL coming over to watch Marisa and going to my dad's house. My one brother was there. He went in and saw my dad. I couldn't. I still can't even drive down his street. I miss him so much! But with one life taken, another life was given to me. I found out within a week of the funeral I was pregnant with my little Collin.

The last event was the most recent. Once again the same brother and SIL, Bob and Rose, gave birth to another child, their second since the passing of Autumn. They had already had Makayla and she was a beautiful little toddler all healthy and full of life. So they tried again and had McKenna on May 5, 2004. Once again the health of the baby deteriorated fast. I felt so bad for my brother and his wife that they would once again be going through this, but I thought it would be different this time. I didn't think God would allow these two people to endure this pain again. I was wrong, but I do not question God. McKenna passed away on August 1, 2004 in a hospice. She was so loved! I went to visit her many times rocking her and praying God would spare her little life -- give us a miracle! My mom was devastated. She is a devout religious woman and she surely thought with her prayers and fasting that the Lord would spare this grandchild of hers. Well, unfortunately it was meant for little McKenna to be in Heaven with Him. We miss her! Her big sister Makayla misses her! She talks about her sisters in heaven all the time -- sweet thing! My SIL has recovered from the initial pain, but it's taken a bit more from her delicate soul. She is a strong woman and I admire her completely!

Sorry for the book! And now that I've relived all these moments and am in tears it's time to go find a tissue. It's all in the healing process. No matter how many tears these memories bring forth, I wouldn't be the person I am without them.

So sore!!!

Well, my body is telling me how out of shape it is. I was a little sore earlier from yesterday's one mile walk. Today I decide to be a good mommy and go for a bike ride with the kids -- could be why by buttisimo is hurting now. Then I met Sheri, a new mom friend I found at Marisa's school, and we walked while Marisa and her daughter had tee-ball practice. Man, that girl can walk!! She wasn't kidding when she said she walked fast. She was funny when she told me that. She said, "I walk fast. I'll tell you that up front." Well little did she know I can walk with speed too. I waitressed and house cleaned for years and you moved with speed to get the job done. One thing though, she doesn't need to lose as much weight as moi, and therefore she wasn't panting as hard as I was. I held my own though, but my calves and butt are feeling it. We did a mile and a half in 25 minutes. Time to go soak in the bath with epsom salt....ugh!! I'm bound and determined to get into shape or at least feel better physically. Off to get pruney -- night night!

2Peas Sunday blogger

Challenge:

List your pet peeves. In no particular order.

1. Wearing socks around the house. They get dirty and it grosses me out to then put your foot back in your shoe with dirty socks.

2. Rude people especially sales clerks or waitresses/waiters.

3. Talking to the annoying telemarketers telling them that you're not interested and they keep insisting to talk to you like they're going to change your minnd. CLICK

4. Running late which I always do. I have the best of intentions, but I almost always run late.

5. Mail -- the kind that just sits and stacks up on my counter.

6. Forgetting to switch the clothes over to the dryer so then they stink and have to be washed again.

7. Going to the store for the one item you need and the store is out of it!

8. Waking up in the morning and realizing I've run out of cream for my coffee.

9. Unfinished home improvement projects -- yes, I have many of those that irritate me on a daily basis.

10. When my kids back talk.

NSD

Well, it came and went and I did nothing to celebrate because I was feeling out of sorts from the rocking great time I had the night before--if you know what I mean. I don't drink often so I tend to pay the price the following day if I have more than one. Okay, I had more than one, but I didn't drive. I had so much fun at the concert, but I have to say I was kind of disappointed. I love Faith Hill and Tim McGraw and they sing phenomenally, but the concert itself was a dud. The people around me wouldn't let you get up and sing with excitement. They didn't want you standing and screaming for that hot sexy hunk of a man who belts out a tune that can melt you. The lady next to me even went so far as to yell to another woman two rows in front of us "Sit down, B****". What the heck is wrong with people, I tell ya.

I wanted them to sing some more of their older stuff, but that didn't happen. My sister was really bummed that Tim didn't sing her favorite song -- Indian Outlaw. Still had a good time even though our seats stunk and I didn't bring a camera thinking you couldn't. I get too afraid they're going to find it and confiscate it..LOL Well, you could bring a camera and now I'm at the mercy of Tracy to send me pictures. Let's hope she does because she got a good one of Tim being she was on the main floor.

I'm going to be scrapping tonight because I just now realize that Mother's Day is one week from today and I wanted to make a mini book for her of all her grandchildren using the Maya Road chipboard book I bought. Can I do it? I'm going to try my darndest to get the thing assembled by Saturday night.

My sister and her family leave for Walt Disney World tomorrow. To say the least I'm jealous. I wanted to go with her, but she ditched me for her friend Karen....LOL That's okay, cause I'm ditching her to go to Oklahoma in August.

And one final note, I was proud of myself for exercising today!!! Yessiree, I did. I walked my hiney off and nearly got hit by a flying foul softball. Thank goodness the players were kind enough to scream at me to duck. That would've seriously hurt!!! I don't know how far that track is, but I walked it twice even with my soar tender belly. Yep, my pelvic area is still hurting. Can't wait to see the doctor on Thursday to find out if her course of action is different than my PCP's.

Off to get the kiddies geared up for bed. I'm getting them down early so I can get to the basement ASAP and work on a few projects. Peace!

Happy Cino de Mayo!!!!

It's exciting for me today because I'm headed out tonight with my sister, my sister-in-law Rose, and her friends Tracy, Dina, and Stephanie to see Tim McGraw and Faith Hill in their SoulIISoul tour. Can't wait!! These gals are sooooo much fun! We're going to start the celebrating at a mexican restaurant and go from there. Here' we come Tim and Faith!!

I should be a doctor

See it goes to show that you can get on WebMD and diagnose your own problem....lol All kidding aside, I did figure out what was going on before the doctor confirmed it. Yep, I have ovarian cysts. The one on the left being just smaller than a golf ball, but I'm told to take Ibruprofen and wait six weeks for another lovely ultrasound. I put in a call today to my GYN to see if she will see me now that this has been diagnosed by my PCP. Obviously it's her specialty and I think she's better capable of handling this. We'll see!

On a brighter note, I went to see my new little nephew, Tyler Michael, yesterday. He was born April 29 weighing in at 10lbs!! and 22 inches long. What a cute-cute-cute little guy. How come 10lbs. still seeems so small? I guess because I'm not the one who had to push him out!!!...lol

Look at the little feet!!!

Blog about your most fave summertime dessert!
What do you really enjoy each and every summer????
Share the recipe if you can!

I love this recipe when I can remember to make it...lol

Pretzel Surprise

2 cups coarsely crushed pretzel sticks
8 oz. whipped topping, thawed
3/4 cup melted butter
6 oz. pkg. strawberry Jello
1 tbs. sugar
2 cups boiling water
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
2 (10 oz.)pkgs. frozen strawberries,
partially thawed

Heat oven to 400 degrees. In medium bowl, combine pretzels, butter and 1 tbs. sugar. Press on bottom of 9x13 inch pan. Bake 8 minutes. Cool. In small mixer bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually add 1 cup sugar. Beat until smooth. Fold in whipped topping. Spread on cooled crust. In medium bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Stir in strawberries. Refrigerate until slightly thickened. Pour over cream cheese mixture in pan. Refrigerate until firm.

Muffins for Mom

Yep, that's how my day started. Marisa's school has this fun little event every year to celebrate moms. In December, they have Doughnuts for Dad. She just loves it when we come and participate in these things.

Now that I've hustled and bustled and have now returned home, I'm just chillin'. I have been in so much uncomfortable pain...well, not really pain but it's hard to describe. I had to go for a lovely pelvic ultrasound yesterday to hopefully try and figure out what the HE** is going on with me. For three weeks I have been feeling this aweful bloated, pressured, burning sensation in my pelvic area. Not a bladder infection -- nope! My doctor took a bunch of tests last week and then I finally got in for the ultrasound yesterday. These reports couldn't come back soon enough. I have bloated to the point where I actually could look pregnant -- scary!! My rings barely fit on my fingers today. I hate not knowing :( After looking around a bit on the web, I "think" it might be an ovarian cyst because I had all of the symptoms. But I'm not the doctor, so I'll wait and see. I hope I get an answer soon because I don't want to blow up like a balloon!

I took part in the scraplift challenge at J4K yesterday. I had to lift Cheri's awesome layout and here's what I came up with:

I also used the same KI paper for my DT challenge layout at Keepsake Trends This is some great paper! I wasn't to thrilled with KI's new lines at first, but they've grown on me.

Off to search for the heating pad! I need to rest..lol

Join us today if you blog!

Challenge - These questions were taken fr the latest and greatest book by Cathy z... have fun! These make for great blog posts:

Complete these statements:

1. My current favorite song: You're Beautiful by James Blunt
2. The last book I read: Love and other Impossible Pursuits by Ayelet Waldham
3. What I'm wearing right now: Ugly floral nightgown
4. The last cd I bought: NOW 21
5. The last gift I bought for someone: For my neice's baptism I bought a gold cross on a gold necklace and First Prayer book.

AHHHH!

Last night was the best nights sleep I've had in a while. I feel all refreshed and ready to go. A little sore from all the stuff I did yesterday. Isn't it so sad that the older you get you can't even pick weeds in the garden and super clean in one day without feeling super sore :( Definitely signs of aging!

I'm in this "get this done" mood lately. I'm so sick of looking at unfinished projects around this house and so I figured I'll just start picking away at them so it doesn't seem overwhelming. Good plan, so let's see how long I stick to it.

Man, oh man, I've come across this site Willow Traders Well, I've actually been to it before but never looked around much. It's like a dream come true. I've found all sorts of things to buy from other people selling them. This week alone I've purchased the Stiletto font for my QK and some additional dies for CHEAP!! You've gotta love a deal!! Go check it out if you haven't already.

I feel

like I've travelled all over. I left the house at 11 am didn't get back home until 7. My cousin Jessica who is ten years younger than I am had her bridal shower today. The bridal shower was an hour away and while that's not bad, I felt it took forever to get there. It was so good to see my mom's side of the family. We only see one another on occasions such as these. That's kind of sad, huh? Here's a picture of my cousins -- beautiful girls!!! My sister and I joke all the time that the "looks" department skipped over us.

There was good brunchie kinds of food, lots of chatting, and I won bingo again!! I am the bingo queen...lol Speaking of bingo, I won a game over at Just4keeps on April 9th. Well the prize was having one of the DT members create a layout for you. They're all terrific, but I chose Erica because of classy doodling style and she's so good at details. Here's what she did and I LOVE it!!!

Thank you, Erica!!

While I was out that way I had to find the oh, so talked about scrapbook store -- The Scrapbook Zone. WOW!!! WHat a store!!! I found all the pieces of paper and doodads that I have not been able to get my hands on either at all of my LSSes or online (well, could find it online but in bits and pieces here and there) such as the A2Z Dulce line, some paper shaper punches on clearence for a $1, 3 Bugs in a Rug Cabana paper and cardstock stickers, Bo Bunny zoo paper, and Cherry Arte!! Woo hoo I was in heaven! Good thing was I only spent $21. That's a good day for me! Off to watch JarHead. I rented it for me and hubby to watch.

PS Cheri, if you read this make sure to keep the skillet handy. I just might need it some time in the future....lol

My body

aches!!!! I never finished caulking the tub or started caulking the basement. Nope the beautiful weather kept me outside doing yard work. OH MY LORD, I forgot I had muscles in the places that are aching. I managed to turnover my garden beds, rake the dead grass and then mow the lawn, clean it all up and then fertilize. Oh, and then I decided to do a little brick paving...lol We had this gap in the cement where this electrician cut it out to run an electrical line to the garage. Well, it's been that was for two years now so instead of waiting on my husband to repair it, I decided to use some of the extra brick pavers and fill it myself. HUM...who needs a man...lol

Today my sister popped over and we whipped out 8 thank you cards for her. I like working in an assembly line like that. It went really quick!

I've stayed up until 1-2 am every night for the past four nights scrapping and I'm paying for it today. Soooooooooooooooooo tired and my neice is here so it's not like I can lay everyone down for a nap in a little while. Her and Marisa would throw a fit! They insist that no 6 or 7 year old takes naps anymore. Okay, then.

There's so much more scrapping I want to do today. I need to do a layout for the challenge I posted for the DT I'm on at Keepsake Trends, plus there are so many awesome challenges going on at Just 4 Keeps I wish I could just stay in the basement all day and scrap scrap scrap!!! Off to accomplish something today -- what I don't know :^)

Here's the layout I finished last night. My Marisa at 3 months old....I miss her being that little!

I am...

going to have a productive day! Repeat-- I am going to have a productive day...lol When the kids are on spring break, or any kind of break, I tend to get so lazy. We dont get dressed til...I guess whenever and we have no motivation. Not today, we are dressed and I've clean up, washed two loads of laundry, and have begun to remove the old caulk from the bathroom tub so I can finally recaulk it the right way. Then I am taking the kids outside for a bit to enjoy this *FANTASTIC* weather. After that, it's back to caulking, but this time in the basement. I'm getting that darn thing done if it takes me forever.

Talking about the basement incites anger...lol For one, the gift card I ordered from my rewards point thing at my bank has never arrived after 6 weeks. It was only supposed to take 3-4 weeks max. I'm waiting on this card so I can get the 10ft countertop for my scrap space. Now I've been informed that the customer service will have to "research" what happened to the darn thing.

Next thing that makes me angry is my husband. I generally love the man, but his darn comments lately p*ss me off. He will do NO, and let me say that again NO, work around this house if he has the kids. In order for him to work on the projects around here I have to be home and have the kids occupied or leave with the kids. Which I have no problem doing, BUT here comes the part that makes me angry--I am supposed to work on the projects around here with kids in tow. Does that make any sense? I think that's one big double standard!! He asks me yesterday if I have started caulking the basement yet?!?! What? So I turned it around on him and said, "Have you?"

This man has developed one bad 1950's attitude about what women are here for. On one hand I'm supposed to cook, clean, take care of kids and the house like a good wife. Oh, and throw in some home improvement stuff like paint, caulk, cut grass, etc. I don't have a problem doing these things at all, but it's like it's expected now on top of all the other stuff. He goes to work - that's it. I don't mean to minimalize what he does because it is a hard job, but when the day's over it's over! What's funny is I've always had a job and been a hard worker, but when I had Marisa we decided it was better for me to stay home. I really wish, looking back, I would have stayed on with some type of part-time work. I think it would've made me feel better about myself and he wouldn't have some "hold" over me about "who earns the money". Well, he may earn it, but the check comes home to Mama...lol Jeez, just typing that phrase peeves me again. I don't know what happened to my kind-hearted husband. Has anyone seen him? Let me know if you do!

So, I'll stop here because I don't want to make this blog a complaining kind of blog. I'll save the complaining and venting for my sis! It will all work out some way or another. But I'll be darned if I become June Cleaver!!! It's never gonna happen!!

What's your dream vacation? Let's blog about it.

Dream vacation -- I'd take any vacation right about now! But if given the choice, I'd love to go somewhere tropical with white sandy beaches and beautiful crystal clear water. Oh, and in that dream I'd be thin enough to wear a 2 piece bikini...lol About as close to this dream I'm going to get this year is visiting the beach at Lexington (Port Huron, MI) and fitting into my tankini!

I've been tagged

by Erica to write 5 nice things I know about someone. In honor of Erica tagging me, I will write about her :)

1. Erica just had the most beautiful baby girl, Abby, on February 11th.

2. She is 10 years younger than I am *GASP*!!!

3. She is the best doodler I know!

4. She expresses her love for our Lord and Savior freely and abundantly!

5. Erica and her husband just bought a house that they will be moving into in August.

Happy Easter!!

I love Easter because of all it stands for -- the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, first and foremost; Spring; egg hunts; good food; and sharing this all with my family. Marisa and Collin woke up and all I could hear were screams and squeals of excitement seeing their baskets and the hidden eggs. I was so darn tired getting in after 12:30 am from the baptism. Whew, that was a looooooong ceremony and I got lots of exercise with the kneeling, sitting, and standing....lol It was very beautiful and my niece looked so cute.

BEFORE THEIR BAPTISM

AFTER GABBY'S BAPTISM

Well, the baskets have been opened and breakfast eaten so it's time to get ready for church. The WHOLE family is going today -- I am making them! Everyone have a wonderful Easter!

Saturday Blogger @ 2Peas

Random Challenge of the day:
Let's name some celebrity crushes. Who did you like as a kid, who did you like as a teenager, who do you like now?

As a kid, I remember being totally in love with Leif Garret and Scott Baio!! Oh, those first crushes were so intense!! Now look at Leif Garret, I'm sure glad we didn't start dating...lol

As a teenager, I was totally in love with Sonny Crocket on Miami Vice!! Oh, those were the days!

Now, I really don't have crushes on celebrities. I think Colin Farrel is hot!

Believe it or not, I do love Tony Soprano! I think I'm going with the tough guy theme here. It's funny because there's nothing about Tony Soprano that I find attractive except "tough guy" bit.

Today

I will be attending my sister's and niece's baptism. They are being baptized into the Catholic church. My sister asked me to be her daughter's godmother and I am completely honored. It's weird because as children, my two brothers, my sister, and I were not baptized even though both of my parents were Catholic and attended Catholic school. I guess that happens when you start having children at 16 -- it really isn't the thing on the top of the list.

So as adults, we have all found our own path of religion. My youngest brother chose to be baptized into the Catholic faith, but later on switched to Lutheran. I started going the Lutheran church my brother was attending. I loved it, so I became baptized into that faith. My sister has chosen the Catholic faith and my other brother hasn't decided what to do. He's still kind of hanging out there not quite convinced of attending church. He believes in God, but is very cynical about church. We keep praying for him...lol I'm just happy that no matter what the religion we have chosen, we have all found our way to God.

Anywho, here's cards I made for the baptism.

Friday Blogger

Fun Fact Friday:

Fact #1 I am an online addict. I can sit for hours going from one scrapbook site to another reading the forums and looking at galleries. I've had to curb that addiction! Spring's here and I've started making myself shut the computer off!

Fact #2 I *sometimes* cuss like a sailor. I must get that from my dad!

Fact #3 I start every morning with a cup of coffee that has to have Coffeemate fat free French vanilla cream in it. If I've run out and forgot to pick some up, the morning isn't pretty!

Fact #4 I am a scrapbook shopping junkie. Seriously, I get some kind of high walking into my LSS and looking around and then buying something...anything. Then I feel guilty when I get to the car thinking I really didn't need that. It's a vicious cycle, I tell ya.

Fact #5 I tend to be anal about certain things. For instance, things have to be done a certain way or it will bother me until I do or redo it. My husband thinks I'm crazy...lol

Fact #6 I used blame my being overweight on my hypothyroidism. Lame excuse, and I proved myself wrong last year when I joined WW and lost 20 lbs. Now I know it's just my lazy fault...lol

Fact #7 I love to exercise, but I can never push myself to do it. That's an odd paradox!

Fact #8 I love shopping for school supplies and get so excited going to Target. The kids are just as excited as me anymore.

Fact #9 I hate folding and putting away laundry! I'll just pile up clean loads of laundry in baskets and iron what we need until finally I become so bothered by it I break down fold it and then put it away.

Fact #10 I dye my hair. It used to be because I wanted redish highlights, but just recently it's becoming a must to cover all the grey hair I am acquiring!

Finished

a layout and card today for a sketch and card challenge at Keepsake Trends. I love this new BG Oh Baby line.

A good read!

I just finished this book up the other day and I can't recommend it enough! The writing was so well done and it just made you connect with each character. I was really hoping it had more of a "wow" ending, but I liked it just the same. I wanted to see Lily become more at peace about her mother and to maybe find out for sure she wasn't the one who did "it" -- I don't want to ruin the "it" for anyone who hasn't read the book. Surely a good read and a great recommendation from my fellow J4K'er, Jill. We are in book club and the books I have read this year have been so awesome. I haven't read these many book ever in my entire life. I've just become so addicted to submersing myself into a good book. Check this one out if you haven't already!

weather lately! Oh, how I love spring, but the mold is high and my nose is stuffed today. It's raining softly and it's the warm rain that I don't mind. The flowers are blooming in my yard. This fall I must plant more tulip, hyacinth, and dafodil bulbs.

Marisa is finally better and back to school today -- her last before the Easter break. That stomach flu got the best of her late Sunday and Monday -- poor thing had it coming out of both ends. I quarantined her the best I could and so far none of us have gotten it. Still crossing my fingers!!!

I just counted how many weeks there are before summer vacation -- 7!!!! Can you believe there is only 7!!!! Wow, this school year has gone faster than any of them. My baby girl is going to be a second grader :( Collin will be entering pre-school - YEAH!!! Mommy will get 3 whole hours every other day to herself (talking in the third peson again...lol) I honestly don't know what I'll do, but I'm sure I'll figure out something -- scrapping will be on that list! Off to run some errands, order some pictures, all the fun stuff!

Busy morning

Well, once again we woke up later than usual, but we still made it out the door in time for Marisa's school -- ironically we were early! Something kept telling me that her teacher was going to ask me to drive for the field trip today even though I wasn't scheduled to do so. Sure enough I heard one of the mom's telling her something, but I didn't want to eaves drop so I left. Miss Hasse runs out in the hall to catch me and ask me if I can still drive. I stood there dumbfounded because I was still in my pajama top with no shower and half applied makeup. Collin still had a portion of his jammies on and no breakfast.

I answered with a dutiful "yes", but told her I had to run home first and get cleaned up. That was the fastest I have moved in a long time -- cleaning out my car, showering, clothing both Collin and I, feeding him breakfast and back to school in 40 minutes -- whew! Thank goodness the field trip was just one to Border's bookstore -- kind of boring, but the kiddies liked it. I had two little girls ride with us and one of them was a riot. I think Collin took a liking to her -- he called her "Hey, Girl". She thought he was hilarious -- that's not how I describe him most of the time...lol

Collin and I get back home with our Micky D's lunch to have the phone ring. It's Marisa's school and she's had an accident. Uh-oh, I think. She has a habit of holding her pee than she ends up urinating on herself -- jeez! Not this time though, the secretary tells me with a laugh. She managed to spill her chocolate milk all over her -- I mean saturated. Collin and I pack back up and head to school with a new uniform for her. We head back home and I'm just freaking exhausted. I layed Collin down and I managed to close my eyes for about 40 minutes -- that was nice.

I stopped by my LSS when I picked Marisa up from school and she had the Pressed Petals hip chipchatter I've been wanting . I don't buy one, not two, but three colors. Jeez, I told myself no more sb supply shopping after last week's spending spree -- I got three of Rhonna Farrer's new stamps. Why don't I listen to myself!!! Probably because I know I can get over on me...lol I was just supposed to go in and buy two pieces of Scenic Route Charlotte papers which turned into three. I have grown to like these after seeing a bunch of Heather Preckle's layouts using these papers for Mosh-Posh kit club.

I want to scrap with these papers ASAP, but we'll see how the weekend goes. I have so many ideas spinning around in my head that I've feel overwhelmed. Does that happen to anyone else? I've got to go get these out of my brain! Have a happy scrappy weekend!

So...

today was the day from potty-training HELL!!! Collin proceeded to pee in his pants twice both times I was at a store...ugh! It was windy and cold out and I felt bad he had to walk around like this until I got home -- both times! Then after getting him home the last time, I change him and two minutes later I smell something and he's crapped in his underwear!!! Dave cleans him all up wanting to throw the underwear away, but I insist no. Collin gets all cleaned up again and we sit down for dinner. Dinner ends and he walks away and he's quiet. Dave goes and checks on him in the bathroom and yep, he's pooped again!!!! This time he's made an even bigger mess because he took his pants down and tried to sit on the toilet as an after decision. I couldn't get mad because at least he tried, but I swear he is being the slowest kid to potty train --two steps forward, one step back!

On a cleaner note, I took Collin to see his first ever theater movie -- Ice Age 2-The Meltdown. He's seen the commercial a thousand times and kept asking me. I was going to take Marisa and him, but on a trip to Target to get the movie Narnia which was released today, I saw the movie theater and spontaneously decided to take him by himself. He was pretty good at first with the pop and popcorn. We were the only ones in the whole show until an older couple came in. He didn't sit in his seat, but he wasn't really bad with the running around. He kept wanting to change seats over and over. And he kept having to leave to go to the bathroom! Cute show though! He didn't understand the concept that once the show was over it's over. He said, "We watch Ice Meltdown again!" Sorry buddy, time to go. So I thought, I'd go get the older version for his Easter basket.

Today I bought 3 different movies and a Now 21 CD for Easter baskets along with the crafty stuff and a few bits of candy. Every year I swear I'm not doing this, and every year I give in. What happened to just getting a chocolate bunny and jelly beans in basket like I did when I was a kid. I never make Easter baskets like Christmas or anything, but I just don't want to lose sight of the real reason for Easter -- the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I have felt such and aching in my heart on this subject--my relationship with the Lord. As a matter of fact, Dave and I had a whole conversation today about him and I trusting in the Lord to help make ends meet. By no means are we poor, but we live probably like most-- pay check to pay check. Dave's job is getting the best of him and he's totally not happy. It's stressing him out and the job is causing all kinds of physical ailments. I really felt for him today and am worried about it. As I type this, I'm crying because it hurts me to see him like this. I prayed and prayed tonight asking the Lord to show me what I need to do as a wife. Maybe it's time I go back to work and lighten his load -- that's what I feel in my heart is the right thing, but we were really trying to have me stay home until Collin went to school full-time in kindergarten. I will be shown what needs to be done. I have faith in that. Well, I didn't want to make this post a book. I woke up after passing out on the couch and sat down here to get some thoughts out of my head. I must get back to La La Land. Good night!

Kenny!!!

Yeah, baby, I just found out that I'm going to see Kenny Chesney again in August. I was originally planning on going with my lil sis, but she has offered to babysit so Dave and I can go for our anniversary. This is going to be the most awesome concert...Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson, and the Big K!!!!

Forgot to mention, too, that I bought my sister and I tickets to go see Faith and Tim on their SoulIISoul tour. We'll be seeing them on Cinco de Mayo. My SIL Rose and her friends are meeting up with us. We always have such a blast with those gals.

On another note, I took this little quiz to see what color I was. I am my favorite color, green, what do you know!!

You Are Teal Green

You are a one of a kind, original person. There's no one even close to being like you.
Expressive and creative, you have a knack for making the impossible possible.
While you are a bit offbeat, you don't scare people away with your quirks.
Your warm personality nicely counteracts and strange habits you may have.

Yet another addiction!

I'm seriously into reading blogs lately, especially when you come across a really good one. Here's one that I just stumbled upon via 2Peas, BonnieRose's blog. She is just so informative and I love all the shabby shic stuff and all the cool links she posts. Plus, she gave away this cool colander to the person who guessed the right amount of Heidi Swapp flowers she had in it. I didn't win :(

Here's another cool thing I came across today reading Tara Whitney's blog -- Ali Edwards' Cafe Express Shop -- some cute stuff!

What a beautiful day we're having here in Michigan -- 67 degrees WOOHOO!@!! I love spring nix the hay fever allergies. Tomorrow it's going to rain, so I'm trying to soak up every bit of today.

Feelin' Good

I finally feel betta!!!! I caught the cold from the kiddies and of course it turned in to a sinus infection..ugh! I've taken all my meds, so there's just a little of the yucky stuff left. Unfortunately something has struck Marisa again and she's home from school. Please summer come quickly!!

I was just on my J4K gal pal Shanna's blog -- love her :)-- and see that she added my blog to hers!! Thanks, Shanna!!! It makes me feel important...*big smile*

I haven't posted this as of yet, but I was very honored and excited to be referred by Shanna's sweet sister, Deanna, to their friend Ginger for a design team position at her up-and-coming awesome site Keepsake Trends. I was soooooooo geeked!!! Ginger gave me the fantastic position as a DT member in charge of Ad/Product inspiration which is right up my alley.

I posted my first challenge about a week ago and I'll show you what I came up with.
Here was the item I chose for inspiration:

And here's what it inspired me to do:

I wanted more beachy kind of stuff on it, but alas I couldn't find anything that warranted me to attach it. I like it though -- simple looking, but took me forever to put it together. What I really love is the picture of Marisa. She's always been such a beauty in my eyes -- of course that has nothing to do with being her mom..lol

I'm off to scrap! I must complete my March Note-to-Self Challenge at J4K which is due by the end of March -- where did March go? Plus, I am in the middle of my Janet Evanovich book, To the Nines. I am so in love with this series of books. I would recommend it to anyone -- kind of comical, sarcastic, some violence and horror, all the good stuff!! And at J4K, we're starting a new book The Secret Life of Bees. I'm looking forward to it.

Have a great day!

Just another day

Days are just passing by and nothing seems to get accomplished around here. I would love to have a day, one whole day, dedicated to scrapping. I usually have to pick at a layout when the kids don't notice me. I'm feeling the need to vent today. Marisa and Collin both are sick with colds, but Collin is on the blink!!! He's being the NASTIEST child!! Totally not listening, hitting, back talking and he's only 3 1/2. Time outs, spankings, and soap in the mouth have not seemed to deter him. Then we have Marisa who is a total drama queen who's always in trauma especially when she's sick. She marches off and slams doors when she's reprimanded. UGH--dear Lord help me!! I thought I had until puberty to have to deal with this type of behavior.

Okay, I feel much better just "talking" about it and getting it off my chest. Dave and I seriously are at our wits end. I know a lot of this behavior has to do with being couped up in the house during cold days, but I'm thinking of boarding school!!!

Finished a few more layouts that I'd like to share. I notice I've been scrapping more since I've put my space together. It's not totally done, but much better and probably a little more organized than before. It's much more welcoming and I feel the "creative" air when I'm down in my little cave. Now to finish it off and I will then post the after pictures. As I type, Dave's in the basement working on "stuff".

Dave and Travis went to bowl in the Taylor Lanes Pro-Am today. They did really well, but I'm mad that none of us thought about them taking a camera. They met a lot of pro-bowlers and had to get their autographs and no pics. Oh, well! Kind of a bummer because I don't know how I'm going to do a layout of this. Maybe I'll use their score sheets -- that's an idea.

Well, it's time to prep my crazy kids for bed. Collin is running around like he's on caffeine. Just about blew my vocal cords out -- he blasted a ball across the room that just missed hitting Travis. Lord, please please help me!!!!!

I think I'm losing my mind!

All week long I have continually either forgot to do something or forgot something. I have felt out of whack all week. When this happens, I really feel like I've been in outerspace or something...lol Yesterday at Collin's class we walk in and they're painting shirts. Okay, I don't remember anyone mentioning to bring a shirt this week! I searched my brain because usually I'm not this bad at remembering, but it came to me that no one did tell me to bring a shirt. Okay, so now I didn't feel so bad. Collin wants nothing to do with the arts & crafts part of the class anyway. WHAT, I say??? Are you my child??? All kids and especially my Marisa love arts & crafts. Not Collin :( Give him a train, plane, car, or anything else that goes fast and he's in heaven.

This week has been Lutheran Schools week at Marisa's school. Each day has been some new way to dress. I have forgotten to take pictures of the last two days because of course we have run late. Today is dress like the 50's. Oh, she was so darn mad that I didn't have poodle skirt for her to wear. Oh, yeah, sure Marisa we'll just go out and buy one or better yet I'll sew one for you --- UH NOOOOOO!! I made her wear a pair of jean capris that had a rolled up cuff, a white shirt with a cute little scarf around her neck and a high ponie with a scarf around that. Maybe she won't be all
dirty after school and I'll get her to pose for me -- that won't be a problem..lol

Guess what? I had to go for an eye exam last week because my eyes, especially the right one was turning pink and itching and burning. I knew it wasn't pink eye because first off there was no gook oozing out (yuk!) and it would come and go. So off to the eye place where the doctor proceeds to do an eye exam. I didn't go for that but what the hey my insurance covers one exam a year free. Guess what he tells me? Yep, I need glasses. I have an astigmatism in both eyes. Oh, I'm feeling old!! My eyes are now failing me, too!!! The itchy pink eye is from my eyes drying out -- what I kind of figured! This happened to me last year, too.

So my insurance covers one pair of glasses a year, but of course they want me to get a pair of reading glasses too. She starts rambling off this and that and I say WHOA!!! Wait a minute! How much is this going to cost me? $200 more dollars in addition to what the insurance is covering and that's just for one pair. Uh, no, just give me the plain-jane glasses please. I don't know if I will wear them anyway. I'll get the reading glasses from the dollar store...lol

Why is it when you get glasses they take a while to get used to? I feel more awkward and out of balance with these things on, but I do notice they help with reading the computer screen.

Well, enough of my ramblings. Here's a layout I did for a journaling challenge at my beloved Just4Keeps. It was a Q&A style of journaling. This layout is way out of my norm, but that's what the paper called for I believe. It's the new BG Urban Couture -- really pretty flowing stuff! Can you believe Marisa took this picture of me? Well, I did crop it and touch it up using Photo Shop. I even printed this on my printer -- I can't believe it printed so well! I don't really have a mole on my upper lip. I think something was on the scanner bed. I had to laugh when I saw that!

Is it March already???

Whew, I can't believe we're already two days into March. Here comes one of my favorite times of year -- Spring and Easter. The weather around these parts doesn't dare begin to match the idea I have in my head of spring, but I know it's near.

We celebrated Fat Tuesday with a few packzi's. MMMMMMmmmmm were they delicicious!! I have to say they are the best I've ever had and I got them at the local super market and not a bakery.

I finished two layouts this week. I have found I'm much more creative in my new space. It's not quite done yet, enough to take photos of any way, but I just love being in it a creating! Plus I get lots of inspiration from my favorite place on the world wide webJust 4 Keeps!! The gallery's been a rocking over there with lots of liftable layouts and ideas. These gals rock!

Here's my two creations. The second one I couldn't get to scan and stitch right because it had lots of lumpy stuff on it. I swear I'm going to get a large format scanner one of these days!

Fun Friday!

Marisa and I went to see the musical Annie last night at the Masonic Temple with a friend of her's from school and her mom. Sheri and Kristine were so much fun to hang out with. First off we went to dinner at Papa Vino's -- oooo, good food. I love going out to dinner, but unforunately Dave doesn't. So it always happens that I either go with my sister or a friend, but I love to go to a good restaurant and enjoy the atmosphere.

The musical was lots of fun, but unfortunately we had the last row in the whole place. Tight seating and a big head in front of me kept me bobbing from side to side. Nonetheless, it was a good time had by all of us. There was only one downside -- when we left our seats at intermission, we left our coats on them. I asked Sheri if she thought they would be okay, and she said sure. We come back from getting a pop and low and behold someone stole her daughter's jacket. I couldn't believe it!!

Then we started putting 2 and 2 together and figured out the people that were next to her never came back to their seats. I didn't see their faces, so I couldn't recognize them if I were standing face to face with any of them. Well, I kept seeing Sheri look over and down to her left and not at the show. Right after the musical ended, Sheri started looking around and headed that way with us following. I was thinking she must have someone in mind so I just continued behind her. We come across these people and I look over as Sheri starts to ask if that's her daughter's coat in their chair. I see the coat and am first thinking maybe it was an accident that they picked it up. Oh, no, you should have seen the busted look on their faces. The lady says to her friend, "Oh, I thought I told you to take that coat back up there." Her friend says, "Ooops, sorry." Sheri just grabbed the coat and walked away. I gave a disgusted look and followed after her. I can't believe they would steal another child's coat and let her walk out in the cold. The little girl with them had a coat on!! Jeez, the nerve of people!!

After talking to Sheri, it was plain to see that they stole it. First off, she wrapped up the coat in hers and left it in the seat. When we got back to our chairs, her coat was laid on the back of her chair with Kristen's gone. So one of the ladies opened her seat and took the coat out. Second off, when Sheri thought she saw the people who were sitting next to her in another location, she noticed that they kept turning around and looking up our way. Anyway, I'm glad Kristin got her coat back and those people were exposed and didn't get away with it.

Talked to my favorite cousin today!!

You know who that is --- it's you Carla!! Are you checking this blog out now that I've given you the link. We can keep in touch this way, too. You know even though I don't pick up the phone all the time, doesn't mean I'm not thinking of you. Keep your chin up and pretty soon I'll have that basement done so you can come over and scrap with the girls. Love ya!!

Sad day :^(

Well, yesterday was the final day that Jaja was laid out. The funeral started at 9:30 a.m. I was only able to attend the viewing on Tuesday from 1-2:30 as I had to pick Marisa up from school. Collin was pretty good for the most part. He was so cute because he would look at Jaja in the coffin and say, "Shhhh, Jaja's seeping." Then he would tip-toe away with his finger to his lips.

I had never been to a funeral that you actually went to church for. In Hamtramck, where most of my in-laws live, there is a little funeral home and right down the street is St. Ladislaus the church they have attended their whole lives. The pallbearers, Dave being one of them, loaded the coffin in to the hurst where we then drove about 300 yds. to the church. It truly was a beautiful Catholic ceremony. The priest actually held my attention. I love what he said about death not having the last word - that most people think of our journey here on Earth in this order - birth, life, & death giving death the last word. However, he said it should go in this order - life, death, and then resurrection or the after-life, therefore you don't give death the last word. It only has just a short, but non-monumental moment in one's life. Anyway, those words really did stick with me.

Marisa was a big girl. We had debated taking her to the funeral, but in the end I thought she could handle it. She cried when she saw me crying in the funeral home, and then she cried at the church when they were walking Jaja's coffin back to the hurst. She said she knew he was in heaven with God, but she was really going to miss him. Collin was superb in church. I could've almost forgotten he was there he was so quiet. He loves his older cousins: TJ, Ashley, Kristy and Jennifer. They were helping me watch him.

I worry for Babcia. She will be all alone after 59 years of marriage. She broke down and cried really hard right before they closed the coffin and then when she walked up for the last look. She is a sweet little thing! Darlene, her daughter and my mother-in-law, had a really hard time, too. No matter how old Jaja was (he was 91) and the life he had, that is her "daddy". She held strong, crying only periodically, but you could see the deep sadness within. She is a great daughter, an only child, who has always taken care of her parents. She will take good care of Babcia, too! My only hope is that out of loneliness, Babcia doesn't let death take her too soon.

Here's a picture of them I took around October of 2005. It was at my MIL's house celebrating the October birthdays. Babcia's birthday is October 15th, and I wanted to get some photos of them together, not knowing when Jaja's cancer was going to finally take his life. God Bless you, Jaja!!

Painting

I started painting!! Yeah, now only 4 more billion walls to go!!! No, really I am just focusing on my little area right now. However, I was so excited to get the paint yesterday and when I was at the paint store I asked if I should only go half the strength being it was a darker color and going in the basement. I should know to go with my better judgement! The guy tells me no it will be fine.

The heck it was!!! I started trimming out the one wall and stood back and ***GASPED**** It was like coffee with a splash of cream. Of course they don't take the paint back, but they offered to add 4 oz. of white paint -- WHAT???? I went back and bought a gallon of white and started mixing 1/4, then 1/2 and then said screw it -- I added the whole half gallon. Now mind you I'm $40 in to this project and not liking what I have so far. I paint two small walls and let it dry. I went back down later and ***SHOCK*** I LOVE IT!!! Thank goodness because Dave will shoot me if I want to change the color and spend more money experimenting! It's nice and warm feeling.

So I'll be adventurous and post my before pics of my scrap space, so when I'm all done you'll be as shocked and amazed as me. This is the part of the basment I am working on right now. It will be my new area with a cabinet and longer counter top and shelves. The basement is sectioned off and shaped like an "L".

Now this is my scrapping area I work in right now. Disasterous!!! My sister just informed me today she doesn't have any "scrap mojo" that area as it is. Too funny, Pam! I'll get it done for you ASAP...lol We can't wait to move around the corner the the clean space. Oh, you promised to help organize the entire area, remember Pam?!?!?!

wHy?

that's the question I ask myself. Why do I sit here on the computer when I really want to scrap yet I don't know what I want to scrap. I feel a little bit of a scrapper's block coming on. I haven't had any pictures inspire me lately enough to want to tackle going down in the dungeon and play with my goodies. I have been just ordering tons of stuff lately and not using any of it. Why??? I ask myself once again. I really feel it has to do with my disorganized space. I was all gung-ho about painting tonight because I finally picked out a color to paint the walls, but the paint store was closed at 5. WHY?? I can't figure out why they close at 5 p.m. So now the desire to paint has subsided...sigh* Here's the paint colors I went with:

The red is actually the color of the boy's room. I had over half a gallon left and love that color so much I decided to make it an accent color on one wall. I couldn't decide whether to go with a deep glowing(but pretty)yellow or not. I feel I have too much yellow in the house already. Plus, the sectional that is in the basement is brown and this taupe color will look good I think.

Now the only thing is to get the basement to stop leaking!! I'm going to paint my area, and then Dave is going to take down the beadboard paneling which faces the front of the house that he just put up to try to locate where the water is coming in from when it rains. He's not a happy camper!

I'm off to read my new favorite book from Janet Evanovich -- Three to Get Deadly. I read books one and two, One for the Dough and Two for Money, in less than a week's time. Man, oh man, are they good! I have to thank my J4K buddies for turning me on to these and getting me reading again -THANKS!

Super Sunday Crop

I forgot to post that I partook in an online crop at J4K this Sunday. It was soooo fun. Every hour Kathy, the owner, would post a new challenge. I was only able to get three of the six challenges completed, but I loved it!

Challenge: Create a birthday card using a shape different than a rectangle or square.

Challenge: To create a treat bag --well, this was for Dave's treats and they tend to be pretty big...lol I redecorated a Yankee Candle bag.

Challenge: To alter a clipboard. This was my first attempt at one. I like how it turned out, but I was so peeved when I accidentally smashed the tip of the paint brush on the paper--ugh!! I can see that spot a mile away no matter how hard I try to cover it.

Feeling betta!

Pretty good day today. Collin and I finally went back to his little Parent/Tot class at the community center. The teacher wondered where we had been. He was pretty good today, but it's funny that he's nothing like Marisa was when she was in this class. She loved every part of it especially the arts and crafts. He wanted nothing to do with decorating his shoe box for the Valentine party next week. So I did it -- love playing with glue and sparkles!

I challenged myself to take him to his class with no diaper. I have never gone out of this house for that length of time with no diaper. He did GREAT!! I reminded myself to remind him to use the potty. He went a total of two times there and then once at the Joann Etc. store. Now we just got to get him doing the #2 on the potty!

I had to stop by Papertales today and look for the QK cupcake die. Nope, they sold out of it. However, she had all the new released dies and I had to buy four of those -- the tab, sparkle, flower letter hangers, and the asterisk plus the new pink zip-around binder. I deserved it!! Now to sneak away and go play with it...lol

I am trying to write a list to pack up my stuff for the second ever crop I will be attending at church this Saturday. One of the mom's at Marisa's school scrapbooks and we finally decided to get together and do this. She has attended the crops at church before, but not me. I find I want to pack the whole kit-n-kaboodle. This time I am trying to narrow down what I need for a few specific things. I need to make cards for my J4K gal pals whose birthdays are this month. I am going to attempt Sunday's sketch, and alter a notebook. We'll see what happens after that.

Sick again!!

Well, I've had a cold/sinus infection for just about a week now. It's driving me crazy because I feel like I'm walking around with a cloud in my head. Every morning I wake up, it's like I have to lift a brick off of my pillow. Why is it that husband's cannot be more understanding when their wives are sick? Dave did help out more than usual on Wednesday which I was very grateful for. You know what I think is because I don't just drop on the couch or bed and I keep somewhat of a good disposition, he thinks I don't feel that bad. All week I have just wanted to lay in bed, but my schedule and kids just don't allow that!! I think I'm going to have to break down and make an appointment for the doctor. To top it all off, Collin never wants to sleep when I'm sick, so he's got me up at 5 in the morning. Today I was having no part of that!!!! I picked his butt up and popped him right back in his bed. I had to go around the house turning every light off. We did sleep in until 8:50, but that put us in a rush to get out the door for Marisa's 10 am dance class.

Oh, I so need to find a real babysitter. I've got to start looking for one. I hope the Lord could send a really nice, honest, decent person my way. I'll pay just about anything right now for just one day of peace!!!

I forgot to post that I didn't make it to the next round at LSS contest at Just4Keeps. I was bummed, but I did like the fact that the pressure was off. With the way I felt this week, there's no way in heck I would have felt like competing in the next round. The exciting part is that now I get to see all the great stuff and vote for my favorite. I'm sure it's going to be hard because these are some talented gals.

Here's my layouts I made for LSSC II:

Wk. 1's Challenge was to create a layout about an event in your life that altered the path in your life. I chose to do one about my mother having me at a young age and her decision to not give me up for adoption. The baby picture is of my sweet little baby Marisa. No one I know has a baby picture of me.

Wk. 2's Challenge was to use and ad for a sketch that Kathy supplied and the layout had to be of some of our favorite things.

Wk. 3's challenge was using a 2 page layout sketch that was provided and we had to create an opening page for our BOM. We had to use the layout to describe what would be included in our BOM and who we were creating it for.

Wk. 4's challenge was to create a layout about a smell that reminded you of something about your childhood. I picked my dad's cologne which was truly his trademark. My mom saw the layout the other day, she laughed and said, "Oh my, Aqua Velva!! Yep, that smell sure reminds me of your dad." I didn't make it on to the next round with this layout, but I'm so glad I did it.
