Color

I just love color and all its possible combinations. That's why I'm posting about these two awesome blogs --- Color Story Challenge and Color Combos Galore.

I am going to try (try being the key word here...lol) to stretch myself in an area that I lack at. When I scrap anymore I just pick the papers that come in a line. I want to try to start mixing and matching paper lines and color combos. We'll see how this goes --- don't expect too much for now :D

Some recent projects

Here are some cards I made for Marisa and Collin's teachers. I scraplifted an idea from Michelle Lanning. She is sooooo talented and her teacher project involved little french fry boxes. I decided to go quick and easy since I left it to the last minute and slap some cards together instead.

Marisa has this little girlfriend in her class who just LOVED the mini phone book I made for her. When I was at her school field day, Rania told me over and over how much she loved the book and wish she could have one of her own. Well, I didn't have time to make her an entire phone book, but I picked up this $1 journal from M's and decorated it for her as a "thank you" for helping us when Marisa lost her science project papers. Rania copied them all for us so we could complete the project.

Then there are a couple layouts I decided to do. This first one uses some Grungeboard that I altered for my June newsletter article at Back Porch Memories. The Halloween layout uses this week's sketch over at Creative Scrappers.

Off to visit my sis -- peace out!

Why??

do I always get a little sad when the end of the school year comes around??? I'm just dreading going to my son's last day of kindergarten tomorrow because I know I'm going to cry. Not a bad dread, but the sort that makes me feel so sad inside. I get mushy about these things. I cried my eyes out when Marisa finished kindergarten, first grade, and second grade too! Gosh, I've got to get a grip...lol I think it's just because time seems to fly so fast and watching my kiddies grow is exciting, but sad at the same time. I know that before we know it they'll be teenagers not wanting a thing to do with us. Travis is already at that stage. He starts high school in the fall and I just can't believe it!!! Well off to start my toughening up techniques. Maybe I'll take a good dry-me-up pill before I head up there tomorrow...LOL

Sketches

I was supposed to make up some sketches to post, but didn't get a chance to do it on the computer. So I thought I'd post a few I've drawn up recently by hand. Hope you can see them okay. I should have went back over everything with pen, but didn't have the time with all the kids' end of year activities that have me hopping lately. Now they might look a little off of scale, but remember I draw them with a 12x12 layout in mind. If I get a chance soon, I will pen them in and post a better picture.

HURRAY to the RED WINGS!!!

We brought Stanley home!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I knew they'd do it!! If there's one sport that I can tolerate to watch and even go to the games it's hockey. I love the fast paced violent nature of the game...lol

Picture Share

We've been having a little camera practice/learning session over at Willow Traders each week. This week's instruction was about vantage point. Here's the ones I decided on featuring because she was my only willing participant other than the flower...lol All of these were taken with my new Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens. LOVE THAT THING!!!

Now, of course, this last photo I doctored with PSE 5.0 -- turned the photo B&W and then added a burnt edge as it's called. I just can't get enough of this camera I tell ya. :^D
