Project 12 and the Throwdown

Good Monday morning, all! Our Monday morning is being brought to us by a snow storm which will accumulate 6 inches or so by the day's end. It's weird how some schools canceled and, of course, ours didn't. I really wonder what determines whether or not they should cancel...hmmm?

Anywho, just wanted to share a couple projects I finished this past week. The first is a double page layout for the Project 12 . Click on the link and you can read more about it. It will be fun to do this as I STUNK at keeping up with Project 365 last year. I feel apart around late May, early June, and just couldn't force myself to do it again. I still don't know what I'm going to do with the rest of the This is much easier and I'm liking that a Becky Fleck sketch is provided each month. I am going to just base mine on a monthly theme showcasing events/moments that I want to recall for the specific month.

Then I decided to help facilitate the use of my ever-growing scrap supplies by entering in to Memorable Seasons Scrapbook Throwdown. Each week a new "recipe" will be posted so we can "cook up" our I like this analogy to Bobby Flay as he's one of my faves on Food Network. Week one's challenge was the Wedding Cake challenge. We had to use something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.
So this is what I came up with although excuse the bad picture because I didn't take it until late yesterday evening and no matter what I couldn't get the coloring right. I will try to take another one today if gets any brighter.

Something Old: 12 yr. old wedding pictures
Something New: Prima flower that I colored with Shimmerz Bed of Roses spritz
Something Borrowed: Pink Paislee sketch
Something Blue: Pink Paislee paper and the ribbon

That's about all I accomplished...oh, almost forgot that I did finish up my nephew's baby book that I started last year. I gave it to my sister at her baby shower and promised her pages for 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. Well, I can finally check that off of my to-do list because it's done! All I want to do before I hand them over to her to be placed in the book is add pictures for 3, 6, and 9 months as he's already that old....and already starting to WALK!! Can you believe it??? I can't!
Well off to start my day and figure out something for dinner. Wishing you all a fabulous one filled with lots of productivity! :D

BPM February DT Reveal

We get to show you our pretties...yay!
Here are the other things I created with the solo kit this month including a cute little Valentine decoration. I bought the wooden, heart plaque from the dollar store...can't beat that...and used goodies in the solo kit to come up with this!

This layout is for my 15 min. or Less Article. I used this lovely picture of our niece Kristy and her fiancee Mike. It's the same one used in their "save the date" card. I thought it was perfect to scrap with this paper line.

This layout is created using our monthly Becky Fleck sketch.

Thanks for coming by to take a peek and make sure to go check out the gallery to see all the other fabulous creations by the design team :D

Dabbling in Digital

Yep, I tried my hand at this once again. Our niece, Kristy, is getting married this year and was looking for a cute, but inexpensive "Save the Date" card. My MIL told her to ask me if I could help because she knew I had put together some cards in the past. I knew it wouldn't be that hard, but I knew that I'm not that digitally savvy either. Well, this is what I ended up with:

I like it and she did, too! I have to say that the digital thing is rather fun to play around with, but you still gotta love paper! ;^)

Okay. Here we go with another year feeling like it's starting to fly by. I seriously need to learn how to slow down time. I would be rich if I could do

With it being the first, I get to show you what Paula has put together for this month's kits at Back Porch Memories -- gorgeous as always!!

The solo has one of my favorites -- Basic Grey Sugar Rush. Their paper lines never disappoint!

Here is the medley for this month

and some lovely stamps...

I got to work with the Solo...yay for me!! Like I said, I just love this paper line!

Got lots of stuff going on in this layout. I must have blacked out while creating because I just kept going and going and didn't know when I was going to I spritz Maya mist and Glimmer mist, stamped the edges with a CTMH stamp and Staz-on, then I texturized the green pp with a Cuttlebug folder, and ruffled one of the papers to then finally realize I needed to Anyway, it was fun getting all artsy because I don't do it often -- takes too long!

Make sure to go check out the kits this month and grab yourself one...or two
