Oh, Blogger

I have not forgotten about you! I swear! It's just your friend Facebook and it's friends Farmville and Baking Life have stolen my attention...lol I will promise to come visit you more and post my creations -- that's when I actually create and I have a bit lately. :D

I'm a bit behind on our manufacture challenge...what's new, but I did get one done. It called for American Crafts to be used and this is what I came up with -- my little nephew in his cute little costume from Halloween camping. I got the idea for the web in the corner from some body's blog, but for the life of me I can't remember. Whomever you are, (sorry I can't remember your name) thanks for the great idea!!

Here is one of the bags we made for Boo'ing some friends around the neighborhood. I bought the bags from Michaels and cut the felt at the top for Frankie's hair. Then I cut some circles for the eyes, and then we drew the mouth and stitches with Sharpie marker.

I watched a webisode of the awesome Heidi Swapp (on every Wednesday night) and she created a cool treat tower , so you just know I had to make one of my own. We have a Halloween party to go to on Friday night and I'm going to load it up with goodies to bring. I'm still not sure if I'm going to leave the pumpkin on top...hmmm You can create any type of treat tower if you think about it -- Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter...

And, lastly, I made this....

...using a file I purchased from Jessica Sprague's -- Hybrid Project Friday: 3
I gave this one to my sister, so now I need to finish mine quick as Halloween is almost over. I think that's about all for now. I must get crack-a-lackin' on my Christmas cards to swap with my favorite Okie gals. Peace out and I promise I won't be away again for so long! :D

It's August!

And that means it's time to show you the fabulous kits that Back Porch Memories is offering their August kits and they're lovely!!

The Solo features MLYB Boardwalk perfect for those summery pictures you've taken.

The Medley kit features Echo Park A Walk in the Park, MME So Sophie, and KI Memories Enchanted --- pretty stuff!

And some lovely stamps!

Here is my early layout for August. Loved these pictures of Collin at the beach on my birthday, so I had to scrap them.

This month I host a challenge and I opted for a easy card sketch. Here is the sketch I created along with the card. If you want to play along, here is a link: Tami's Card Challenge

I think that's all I have to share for now. The dwarf hamster just had six babies!! That's what we've counted so far. I knew this was going to happen! We just got two of them from my sister-in-law about a month ago. They were born from her hamsters and I'm wondering if it's going to be okay that brother and sister hamsters conceived offspring of their own...YIKES! This is all so scary...lol

Crate Paper layout

My friend Cheri and I challenge each other to create layouts with our stash by picking a manufacture and then creating away! We've been a bit slow at these last challenges, but hey...we're using our stuff and best of all...Cheri's scrapping again!! :D :D

Here's my layout of my favorite-little-1 yr.-old nephew, Gavin. He's so full of spunk right now. Speaking of Gavin, I miss him dearly so I need to plan a trip on over to my sister's house...maybe I'll go tonight if I can overcome all these aches and pains in the lower half of my body from painting Marisa's bedroom...signs of age! LOL I'll have to show you the outcome on another post after I've put it all back together -- lovely color in my opinion...lol

Just heard the coffee pot "beep" so I must run and get a cuppa! Have a superb day!

My Mind's Eye Challenge

I was desperate to scrap, but needed to find something to push me to do it. Then I fell upon the My Mind's Eye blog and their challenge and BINGO! This is what I came up with... :^)

I just adore their papers and have amassed quite a bit, so any push to scrap with my stash is always welcomed! Well, I'm off to the beach to celebrate my birthday with the kiddos. It's a beautiful day and I don't want to waste it away. I love the beach and any opportunity to take more photos...woo hoo! Have a blessed day!

July BPM!

Wow...I've been very neglectful to my blog. No excuses though -- just living life and having fun with the kiddos now that summer is here.

The BPM kits for July are flipping fantastic! Check them out:
Solo featuring Bo Bunny Sun Kissed -- love it!

Medley features Cosmo Cricket DeLovely, Bo Bunny Peacock Lane, and October Afternoon Fly A Kite -- great mix!

And what cute stamps to use on those summer pages!

Now on to the pages I created with the Medley kit this month.

Created using a sketch from Creative Scrappers -- love that place for inspiration!

May BPM time!

Whoa! Has it really been over a month since I've blogged!?! That's what happens when you get caught up in the world of Facebook...lol

So let me quit yacking and show you my DT creations for the month. I got the Solo kit to work with this month and I LOVED the colors!! So perfect for boy layouts and also a girl layout, too!
Um, ya, not sure why this layout is looking so crooked! I tried and tried to straighten it out to no avail. The red open scallop border along with the green patterned paper really does go straight across and not slant...lol

Here's my layout using the monthly PageMaps sketch. It was PERFECT to scrap some photos of this little guy. :D

And here's a layout created for my *15 Min. or Less Article*

And, then here's my favorite thing I made! It's for my sister who's little guy is turning one on Wednesday. I can't believe he's already one! He's soooo stinking cute!

This was super simple to make believe it or not. I'm not much of a sewer, but I put this together in a snap. Then I adorned it with the lovely Fancy Pants Family papers and a few things from my stash. She's going to love it!

Make sure to go check out the other DT gals' creations in the gallery and then make sure to run and get a kit or two for yourself :D

Back to scrapping I go! Have a blessed day! :D

BPM April Sketch Challenge

My turn to host a challenge at Back Porch Memories, so you know I had to go with one of my favorites...a sketch! Come by and join in. For each layout you enter, you get a chance to win an awesome prize.
Tami's April Sketch Challenge

and...here's what I came up with using the incredible SEI Happy line featured in the Medley kit :D
Could these pictures have not been more perfect for this paper line! See, that's why it pays to wait to scrap pictures....don't be hasty in trying to finish up everything. Wait for the perfect paper...lol

Look at the yumminess in the Medley!

and...the yumminess featured in the Solo :D

MORE cutesie stamps! I'm cracking out the Copics to color with these for sure!

That's it for now. I need to get cracking to finish up my Easter preparations which include some shopping...yuck! It was crazy out there earlier, so I'm hoping most of the crowd has gone home. Wishing you all a beautifully, blessed Easter day celebration!

Some peeks to share!

This month I did the member layouts at Back Porch Memories. I can't show you the entire layout, but I can give you a little peek until you become a member...lol Each month I create sketches for the member and then Deb, Danielle, and I take turns cranking out layouts with both kits....fun!

The solo kit this month featured some pretty papers by Reminisce -- Unwritten.

The medley features papers by My Mind's Eye, Upsy Daisy, and Cosmo Cricket -- just lovely!

Oh!! And these stamps!! Goodness gracious they're cute!

Here are the peeks of some of the layouts I created.

And then here's a layout I literally through together at the last minute because I had so much to do this past week that I totally forgot I needed to to my last entry for the Scrapbook Throwdown at Memorable Seasons. Challenge #4 was called the Mini Buffet and we had to create a layout about our favorite food or restaurant. Bad picture because I took it at night, but I got 'er done using a sketch by Julie Bonner for My Creative Scrapbook and posted at the Everyday Scrapper blog for their Sunday Sketch inspiration. AND I must thank Julie M. aka Juliescraps for sharing her terrific creation and the sketch on Facebook because it made doing this layout soooo easy!

Going in search of a recipe for dinner! I'm trying to get that out of the way. Hope you all have a great day!

A couple more...

things I've created lately. First here's a layout created for the 3rd Throwdown challenge over at Memorable Seasons. I flopped on the second challenge, so I made sure to finish this one early. It's called the "meatloaf challenge" and the requirements were to use (2) 4x6 photos, cardstock for your base, two sheets of patterned paper, and flowers. You could throw in some ribbon as your "spice" if you wanted. I finally used some of that Jenni Bowlin paper that I've been hoarding!

Then Ms. Cheri actually contacted me to say she needed to scrap again...WHAT!!! That girl doesn't know she brought tears to my eyes hearing her say that...lol We've started pulling manufacturer names again and using our stash to scrap with. This time around LYB was pulled, so I used some more of the baby papers I had bought last year to scrap my little nephew Gavin. BUT...this time I used those baby papers to scrap Collin when he was my brand new little bubs...ahhh how I remember those days! He was just a colicky baby. I thought I was never going to make it through that time in my life, but I did by the grace of God!!

And, lastly, here is a book I made using my Bind-It-All!! I got an email from My Creative Classroom which showed it was offering a BIA 101 class. Well, I just knew I needed to take it because that darn BIA has been a pain in my side since I purchased it. I never seemed to get those darn holes punched right. Well, now I will be able to because Nan, the instructor, was an awesome teacher who showed us the basic ins and outs! Thank you, Nan! Our first project was to create this BIA punching guide to use when needed. I jazzed it up a bit, but not too much as it's just a guide. Now I need to get my butt going on finishing the rest of the projects that were assigned. Okay. I'm behind on that, but I will do it!

Here's wishing you all a happy, blessed Wednesday!

Project 12 and the Throwdown

Good Monday morning, all! Our Monday morning is being brought to us by a snow storm which will accumulate 6 inches or so by the day's end. It's weird how some schools canceled and, of course, ours didn't. I really wonder what determines whether or not they should cancel...hmmm?

Anywho, just wanted to share a couple projects I finished this past week. The first is a double page layout for the Project 12 . Click on the link and you can read more about it. It will be fun to do this as I STUNK at keeping up with Project 365 last year. I feel apart around late May, early June, and just couldn't force myself to do it again. I still don't know what I'm going to do with the rest of the book...lol This is much easier and I'm liking that a Becky Fleck sketch is provided each month. I am going to just base mine on a monthly theme showcasing events/moments that I want to recall for the specific month.

Then I decided to help facilitate the use of my ever-growing scrap supplies by entering in to Memorable Seasons Scrapbook Throwdown. Each week a new "recipe" will be posted so we can "cook up" our creation...lol I like this analogy to Bobby Flay as he's one of my faves on Food Network. Week one's challenge was the Wedding Cake challenge. We had to use something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.
So this is what I came up with although excuse the bad picture because I didn't take it until late yesterday evening and no matter what I couldn't get the coloring right. I will try to take another one today if gets any brighter.

Something Old: 12 yr. old wedding pictures
Something New: Prima flower that I colored with Shimmerz Bed of Roses spritz
Something Borrowed: Pink Paislee sketch
Something Blue: Pink Paislee paper and the ribbon

That's about all I accomplished...oh, almost forgot that I did finish up my nephew's baby book that I started last year. I gave it to my sister at her baby shower and promised her pages for 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. Well, I can finally check that off of my to-do list because it's done! All I want to do before I hand them over to her to be placed in the book is add pictures for 3, 6, and 9 months as he's already that old....and already starting to WALK!! Can you believe it??? I can't!
Well off to start my day and figure out something for dinner. Wishing you all a fabulous one filled with lots of productivity! :D
