Playing around with

April's CSS kit. I became a kit club member because my incredibly talented friend Cheri is the kit club designer. I love all the goodies she puts together and had to take the leap. Here's another layout I finished with the incredible MM Sophia.


I felt in a swirly flourishy mood last night so I hand cut some. There are a few goodies on the page from my stash -- Prima flowers, Stickles, glitter, and a small piece of MM Elizabeth. Thanks for peeking!

Before & After

The painting is all done in the family room. I just have to muster up the motivation to want to redo the trim. It could use a nice fresh coat of paint, but I keep telling myself that it looks just fine for now :D
It's taken some getting used to this new color, but it is growing on me.
Here's a before picture from 2005. Don't mind Collin walking around in diapers carrying a balloon for Marisa's birthday. He is now out of diapers for the record...LOL


Now here is the new color of the room with a new area rug. I really do like it now. It feels homey, comfy, and relaxing.

New Challenge

Well, gals, I can't pull it right now because if I go down and disturb the new dog, she won't let me get any sleep for the night. We've had to start crating Jasmine at night because of her situation of being in heat and all (see the little diaper...LOL) I notice if I don't let her sleep in the bed, she craps in the house to get back at me! Stinker! And it's always somewhere she knows will get back at me like on a pile of scrap paper I had on the floor in my scrap room (thankfully in a ziploc bag, but ewww!) and then on the brand new area rug....UGH!! But ain't she still so cute?!


I will pull this first thing in the morning -- promise girls! =D

Junkitz challenge -- CHECK!

Yep, finished this one yesterday and forgot to post it with Easter being today. So here ya go

This is my Collin about 2 1/2 years ago. I can still remember that little toddler face! Boy, I love to look back at older photos but sure dread how time does fly :( I wanted to do more Junkitz layouts as I have amassed quite a bit of it, but time got the better of me. We'll wait for next time it's pulled, huh?!

Sharing

Just finished up a few things that I figured I'd post.

First is a layout of my brother and his girls all gussied up for their special annual dance. They're so cute!!


Next is a layout I did for a challenge Zarah posted at CSS using up scraps. I had these left over from my BPM February kit, so it worked out perfectly. I just added a of chipboard swirls that weren't in the kit.


This last layout is from Carolyn's "Scraplift Me & Pass It On Challenge" at CSS. I scraplifted Angie. Her layout had a wonderful paper layering design along with a trail of buttons and hearts. These are the elements that I chose to lift.


Hope you all are having a great day. Any day that includes scrapping for me is a TERRIFIC one :D

Better mood & our new addition

Thank you all so much who posted comments to the previous post and thank you to those who have thought of us during this time. We're making it one day at a time :D

Now on to better news...our new baby girl!!!

Isn't Ms. Jasmine the cutest thing!!! I've always wanted a pug and now I can finally say I have one!! She came to use from another family who had to relocate to Florida. They knew the heat would be too much for her, so they set out to find a good family for her. I'm glad they chose us because she's the sweetest dog with the best temperment. She follows me around every where snorting...too cute!

Hope everyone has a FANTASTIC weekend!! The sun is shining and we'll be painting the family room..yay! I love the look of a freshly painted room.

Really bummed!

We're now into week three of this strike and it's looking worse. With no one really buying cars and the price of gas rising, AA&M has the upper hand and obviously the funds to wait out this strike. We don't! After almost 9 yrs. being a SAHM, I find myself having to go out and seek employment. However, with the economy being as depressed as it is here in the Detroit area, finding a decent job with decent pay won't come easy. I have faith in the Lord and know this will all work out in the end. It's when you're going through it and just having a BAD day you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Please continue to pray for all of those affected by this strike. I'm sure there are families out there who are having a harder time than we are. Thank you!

Double Page layouts

I'm not a gal who does not scrap double page layouts at all! However, for about a year I was one of the designers at BPM who created (2)double-page layouts a month with a part of the BPM kit and provided instructions. I have never posted these before, but thought I'd start posting a few here and there. Hope ya don't mine ;)

1. I used to smoke.
2. I love to take a drive during a beautiful summer day with no destination in mind and to see if we can find a cool spot or restaurant.(We don't do this much any more with the price of gas ...LOL)
3. I can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke on my husband and I remind him often.
4. I love the beach, the sound of the water, and the smell of skin that has been lathered with sun tan lotion.
5. During a 9yr. period I moved 11 times.
6. I can't stand to get my socks dirty.
7. I once almost caught myself on fire while sitting on a toilet...(those of you I told the story to will know what I'm talking about here....LOL)
